RUNNING: THE LOST CHRONICLES
Sorry for the lack of updates … but here’s my running round-up from July 2012 onwards:
Running was good
Then life was suddenly really, really sad =(
Then running stopped
Then running started again, but running was hard
Then I hated running and wanted to stab running in the tits
Then Amsterdam Half Marathon happened and it was good
Then Paris Half Marathon was signed up for

If you find a lung left behind at Mile End track,...
I loved going track when I was at secondary school. I used to train at New River amongst the likes of Dwain Chambers, John Regis and Dalton Grant three times a week without fail, even though I wasn’t even doing that many competitions or anything.
Things I associate with those old school sessions:
Being fast
Fit boys
Happiness
Bearing all this in mind, I rocked up to Mile End track with RDC...

“A couple of hundred yards from the Olympic Stadium, the deprivation of Newham should undermine any sense of national ‘togetherness’ the establishment would like to foist upon us … Much has been made about the “regeneration” the Olympics will bring to a place like Newham, yet as part of the Coalition’s cuts, the borough’s local authority will see its funding from central government slashed by...
Bupa London 10K. FML. Oh, and see you next year.
I’m not good in the heat. I’m moody, I’m not nice to be around and, basically, I’m a total bitch. And in the heat, I’M EVEN WORSE! See what I did there.
So, bearing all this in my mind, why would I go and FAST MYSELF UP and run a 10k on the hottest day of the year? I cannot tell you. I cannot tell you. What I can tell you is that I was so motherfugging hot that...

i like parks. i like how green and pretty they are and i like that when you walk through them in summer you look a TINY bit more fanciable to the opposite sex than you normally do and i like how you can lie on the grass and look into the sky and say stuff in your head like ‘LIFE, EH? LIFE. WHAT IS LIFE?’. parks are good. but RUNNING through parks? running through parks is torture. it...
nobody tells me what to do
this nike bench in brazil is inscribed with the word ‘corra’, which roughly translates as ‘no bitch, no you AIN’T sitting down to rest bitch, keep moving, keep moving you lazy bitch’. it’s a great bench. i would still find a way to sit on it though. i’d go and get a plank of wood from the local DIY shop [[MORE]]and lay it across the bench and then get a...

"Think Easy, Light, Smooth, and Fast ... "
Finished ‘Born To Run’ yesterday and loved every second - what a hugely inspiring and gripping book. It’s the kind of story that makes you want to run barefoot for 80 miles through a canyon screaming ‘I AM HUMAN! RUNNING IS IN ME! RUNNING HAS ENTERED ME! I AM NOW PREGNANT WITH RUNNING! HELP ME! HELP ME!” etc etc. You know, just standard stuff that us ultramarathoners say. Sadly I only just found...
YES JEGGI! =)

HEY GANG, HOW’S IT GOING!? I’M JEGGI. These past few weeks, I got really close to a person I had previously only known over the internet. Over the time we spent hanging out (he spent his last week in London crashing at my flat) we realized how close we are to each other not just in interests like running but in character. We realized that the way we perceive the world,...

Run Dem Crew VLM Medal Presentation
Our man Jerome from the RDC Youngers used his initiative and captured whole of the London marathon medal presentation. A lovely piece of film captured behind closed doors. Strap yourselves in and keep the tissues near, it’s an emotional one.

Ah, what a sick weekend! Went down to watch the London Marathon with Run Dem and it was such an amazing day. I need to tell you something. I usually don’t really like people outside my very close circle of family and friends that much. I mean, people do HORRIBLE things, don’t they? Like they throw...

There are many words I could use to describe the events of the last 72 hours but for once nothing in my arsenal seems appropriate to describe the energy, love and sense of community I have witnessed over London Marathon Weekend this year. First an afternoon of cutting and sticking followed by the Town of Runners screening and then a midnight mission and an insanely late night.
